Citrini Analyst #3 Field Trip & SaaSpocolypse back in full force
Too many headlines? Why not go and see it for yourself; atleast, that's what Citrini analyst #3 did.
An analyst from Wall Street firm, Citrini Research, referred to as Citrini Analyst #3, completed a daring mission of documenting the real stories regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The administration and media outlets have flooded media feeds with various news that simply would be debunked within a matter of hours to days, from false ceasefires agreements to threats that are not executed. Citrini analyst #3 observed firsthand shipment activity surrounding the Strait. In their substack, they concluded slight shipment activity day by day, still well below normal traffic volume. These ships move in the shadows of AIS with Iran controlling the passage of which ships can pass through.
Software names have yet to recover from February's Saaspocolypse with many hitting new yearly lows this week. ServiceNow CEO, Bill McDermott, purchased shares and talked up his stock live on CNBC in March, but the market has largely shrugged off this conviction. Many other software names have also seen change in leadership during this difficult time. Salesforce also hit a new yearly low, just see IGV for yourself, it hasn't gotten any better.
The market has seen a bit of relief recently, and semis are building a strong base to run up from. AMD, NBIS, NVDA, TSM, INTC, MRVL, and others have seen strong moves from the yearly lows and look to be building strong momentum towards all-time highs. Chip demand is not slowing down as Agentic AI buildout demand remains constant in this macro and volatile geopolitical environment. If the broader market is going to see all time highs later this year, semis might very well be the driving force.
